I'm just curious and I know they are crap but did actually anybody ever installed one of these electric blowers and measured the hp gain? And if yes how much?

from what i've heard, they actually decrease the HP in our v8s. it's sitting right in the way of the air flow, unless you turn it on. our engines love more air, and that thing doesnt give enough. it isnt on all the time. maybe if you had a 4 banger, you might see a couple ponies from it. i was interested in one at one point too. then everyone here made me change my mind really quick.

Dont' get me wrong. I can tell even with my limited knowledge that this can't work. I would never consider it. As you can see from my mods I'm more concerned with my airflow then anything else. So you think it even takes away hp? How can it be that these guys even sell any of those?

The same way they sell magic oil products, fuel atomonizers, etc.
They don't work. The only dyno i saw was on a sebring or something i believe. All it showed was the product didn't work as everyone already suspected. It may have even lost HP.

Someone did a dyno with it on some v6. They gained power up until 3500rpm, then they started losing. The max gain was 15hp, the max loss was 12... Might be the other way around. There are also the real electric superchargers. One of those was tested on a Nissan Altima & gained 93hp @ 8psi. Thats making a 115whp car jump to 208whp. I like them & the creator is one of my role models. Not sure if it's been tried on a v8 yet. The biggest I know of so far is a 3.5L 24v v6.

Very much so. Not only that, it will out perform superchargers & turbos on power output. To my knowledge the highest psi out for 4-6 cylinder engines is 12psi using a single. For a v8 it requires the use of 2 of them. It's like nitrous oxide, but free bottle refills. (alternator) It recharges in a couple minutes of highway travel.

$1700 for the complete single supercharger kit, I'm not sure about the twin. I can find out. Give me a little bit.

This sounds very interesting, an electrical supercharger that charges on your alternator and it is probably cheaper than a regular one. I want to see more of this electric s/c.
