MAC Longtubes

I'm looking into getting a full MAC exhaust, Long tubes, o/r h pipe, and catback on my 02 GT. I've reserched the sytem online, and it has the sound i want, and the price isnt too outrageous.

My question is more about the header install. I plan on doing the install myself, with the car up on jack stands. Is this going to be enough, or am i going to need a lift to do the install? my other question is wether or not i should get ceramic coated, or just the plain headers. i know what the ceramic coating does, but is it worth the extra money? Does anyone have any advice about doing the install, or any problems they ran into?

thanks again guys!

Well, is the ceramic worth it from a performance stand point... no, is it worth it from a cosmetic standpoint, probably. Longtubes sound awesome and youll notice a nice top end gain. The install is a straight biatch, you really need to do yourself a favor and drop the K member, I did it the hard way and I had to get a friend with smaller hands and arms to get up in there to remove 2 of the bolts. It will be harder on jackstands, I had a lift - still very do able, but be careful. I also had to jack the motor 1" to get them in - not alot of fun.

yeah that whole jacking the motor thing kinda bothers me a bit lol i really dont want to send it to a shop to have done, seeing as im going to school to be a ford tech.

if i drop the k member do i still need to jack the engine up?
how long did it take you to install, and do they leak at all?

I installed a tubular K-member when I went with Mac L/T's. A lift is definitely a plus for install and go with ceramic coating

go for the ceramic coating if you have the $$$ to spend. if not then dont bother.
