Default Nitrous

Been going back and forth between nitrous and a S/C and Nitrous seems like the only thing i'm ever going to be able to save enough money for, now the questions.

If I wanted to throw a 100 shot into my car, do I need to get anything else other than the nitrous kit? What is the highest shot you'd dare put through a stock bottom end? What brand of kit do you recommend? What other bolt ons should I have before getting nitrous? If I just buy a tuner, will it be able to tune the car?, or will I have to get it dyno tuned?

Thanks for any answers :P

I wouldnt push 125 shot but thats me and i play it on the safe side. I see many people running 150 shot with no problems but i wouldnt go much past that. The wet kits require more install time but in my opinion its well worth it.

i have zero experience w/ the newer cars... but ran through 3 different dry kits on 3 different cars.

just do it, you'll love it and always use it... even if later on you do a motor or drop the coin on a blower... you can still spray it. 25-50 jets on a blower works wonders to cool it off.

anyways, generally speaking 100 shot will knock over 1 full second off (10 car lengths in the 1/4) and is the best way to go. you start to lose the gains just like any other way of making HP... it takes more to make more.

you want your bottle at 70* or more... 85* is super good, otherwise you'll be wasting nitrous and making less HP, so if you plan on using it when it's chilly... get a heater.

the basics will come with the kit... wot switch, fp safety switch , and thats really it. i'm not a fan of window switches, i say just use your head and don't deal w/ the headache of the window switch.

i'm a fox guy and they are more forgiving and simple. but you'll still love it.

as w/ any... big gear works well.

and after the install... expect to score some sticky tires... cuz even on stock pigs you'll smoke 'em away. you need to make it hook.

tires, gears and nitrous and you'll be knocking on the door of 12's if not breaking in there.

oh yeah.. i like NOS, not a big fan of ZEX but still an ok kit

NX is the way to go for a wet kit, if you don't like NOS

search around... you can get a new kit for used prices if your patient. especially if you can score a good bottle. winter is the perfect time to buy... prices are low and so is interest in buying performance parts

search the classifieds on here, craigslist, corral.net, stangnet.com, and ebay

Am I going to have to get anything else done along with the N20 kit? Such as TB/Pellum or a tune?

I have dynotune nitrous wet kit. Love it. I took over a second off my 1/4 mile time.

1. you do not need a tune for a 100 shot.
2. Wet is more consistant.
3. You do not need a TB/Plenum
4. Do you have an auto or manual. If auto dont need a window switch. If manual i would get one if i were you because you are new to nitrous and it would be alot safer. Im pretty sure you dont have the experience like Dimebag, Nitrousbob or I.
5. Dynotune nitrous also has this special for a bottle warmer for like $80. Take advantage of that they usually run about $200.
6. Like Nitrousbob said. Get sticky tires. There is no point in having that much torque and no traction. Also suspension would be best to do after the nitrous, or even before to maximize your time.
7. Bolt ons are not needed, however it will greatly help your times.
8. If you have proper fuel, ignition, A/F ratio, and enough pressure in the bottle, and a tune, i have seen people do 185 shot on 99-04 stock bottom end.
If you have any questions feel free to PM me.
