LOTS Procharger ??
I am planing on getting a Procharger p1sc at the end of summer, but i have a few questions, is it safe to run 10/11 psi on a stock motor with 131,xxx miles? The motor is really strong though. If I install the kit myself, will it still be under warenty? The kit comes with a chip, is that for a tune, or what? Will i have to go and get it dyno tuned? If so does any one know some where close to Modesto, CA. where i can get it dyno tuned? How much does it cost for a dyno tune?
I'll try and answer some of your questions.
1. I just put a Vortech S-Trim with the stock pulley and a MPH powerpipe on my 2000 GT. I don't have a boost guage, but I'm guessing it's making a minimum of 8 psi. My engine has 136,000 miles on it. Whether you blow up your engine or not really depends on the tune and how much power you try to make. Keep it around 375 rwhp with those miles.
2. Not sure about the warranty, but I don't see why it wouldn't be covered just because you installed it.
3. The car has to be dyno tuned after the supercharger is installed, so yes and yes to those questions. Air/fuel ratio, timing, etc. needs to be set by someone who knows what they are doing. With 130k+ on the engine, this will be critical.
4. I live in NY, so I can't help you there.
5. At least a few hundred bucks. I paid $550 to have my kit installed and that included all the dyno runs and tuning. It was on the dyno for over an hour. Best $550 I ever spent.
Good luck!

thank you, i was going to blockbuster and i saw a car that had a "Performance Dyno Tuning" sticker on it and they are located in oakdale which my GF lives there any ways so ya, and it will cost $100 for a dyno tune, (does $100 sound cheap for a dyno tune?)i dont know how well there work is, but i went on thier web page and they have a lot of cars that make good HP so i am guessing they are probably good.
$100 is dirt cheap for a dyno tune, which would scare the crap out of me. Remember, you don't just want a tune to give you the most RWHP, you want one that gives you the most AND the safest RWHP. I'd look for a place that has plenty of experience with the 4.6l mod motor.

A good tune is key. A good gauge gives you some peace of mind.
