Default headers...Long or short

Hey all,
So I just got my first mods done....Corsa Extreme ABS, Steeda CAI and SCT tune, and a MGW short shifter. It sounds good but not loud enough at idle or going slow..actually kinda quiet. When you step on it it sounds amazing but.... What next????
Do I do a catted X pipe with Short tube JBA cermaic headers say?? Will short throw headers alone make her sound much better? Do I do long or short and what's the difference? Thanks so much for any advice!!!!

Headers won't do much for the sound. They will however, make a difference in performance. Short tube headers will have the same basic performance level as stock exhaust manifolds. Long tube headers will give you better exhaust flow and scavage at higher RPM's resulting in better performance.

If you gotta SMOG in Cali, get the JBA shorties. If ur living ANYWHERE else get Longtubes. Even if you have to SMOG in other states, they aren't like CA so as long as you have cats for non-CA smog ur good.

If the headers don't help much with sound.....What about the magnaflow catted X pipe? Will that without getting headers add the sound I want? How much louder the catted X alone make it?

You'll notice it but if you REALLY wanna hear it, get an O/R mid pipe.

Longtubes won't be louder on the bottom end but ROAR on the top end. Shorties can be overly loud and annoying at all RPM's.

Don't be so obsessed with just the sound! think performance. If it's bad ***, it'll sound bad ***. You'll hear the difference with the x-pipe, but I agree with Beamer. The O/R mid pipe will make it talk!

Thanks all! It sounds better every day. I have actually been getting a ton of compliments and had my boss drive it and it sounded awesome at it drove away. The corsa are just so great at keeping quieter in the cabin which is great. I am content now but may put on the X pipe .... O/R or high flows not sure yet

I guess like you say worry about performance....maybe a pulley and new gears

Long Tubes FTW!!!! Don't waste your time with UD Pulleys save the money for the gears.
