Default Supercharger question

If you can change the boost just by changing out the pulley why not buy a cheap supercharger kit like 5 psi($1500-$2000) and then change the pulley out for 10 psi ($3500-$4000) or whatever you want? This my sound like a newbie question but Im not to familular with superchargers.

Because the impellers and housing are designed for only a certain max PSI. If you overspin it, you get cavitation and loss of PSI. The Vortech S trim should be the smallest s/c you put on a Stang (my opinion).
