Default Masterpower Ebay Kit?

so i was again considering turbo's as a means to boost my car, and i came across this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...id=p2759.l1259

its only a partial kit, hot side only w/ a MP T-70 turbo. and its only 1700 shipped? i also read that its only got a "partial" down pipe, which means that i would probably have to go and have an exhaust shop build the rest of it w/ a Y-pipe. If i do that, should i omit buying an O/R H or X, and simply go straight from the Y pipe to my SLP's? (AND remove the stock H w/ cats)

It looks like it will take a lot of work. Yes you will have to have a custom h or x pipe made, but if you dont have access to a pipe bender and welder it's going to cost a bit to have one fabbed up.

I think the biggest problem will be building the intake for it. If your unable to fab up your own parts, I would hold off and save for a complete kit.

the kit doesnt look that bad. you will need to spend about $400 on piping and an IC if you buy through ebay. the downpipe will have to be completed and then go into a y pipe. if you go with this kit you can just run the ypipe directly to your catback. no need for a x or h pipe. the reason for those is to equalize exhaust pressure by mixing both banks. this kit does that before the turbo just like any other turbo setup

you can get a complete On3Performance turbo kit for under $1800 on ebay. It comes with everything and bolts right up all you need is the k member and a arms. You can choose from several different turbos to use for an additional fee. Theres a few guys running them already and have made good power..

Yeah, I would look into the full kit to save you some time and initial cost.

on3 performance's kit may be complete, but from what i can tell this exhaust piping seems beefier and will likely last longer. cold side will be done with ebay "intercooler" piping, with an Air/Water intercooler. at the very least, this thing comes with a 1 year warranty vs the on3 kit, afaik they still dont offer a 1 year warranty?

as far as fabbing up the exhaust -- the down pipe is basically a turn down pipe with v-band. i asked a shop how much for a fabbed up pipe, they said depending on how many bends and welds, probably anywhere from 200-400$ but cant give an exact price until he looks at it.

i already have a full QA1 coilover front suspension.

the on3 kit uses low grade stainless for their hot side. they also ripped off b&g's design....at least when it comes to their 5.0 kits

think about it logically, a complete kit for $1800, you know your not getting top of the line stuff

yea, i've read about the cheap quality of the on3 kits. thats why when i saw this ebay kit it caught my eye cuz i've seen other kits with pipes beefy like that that have held up to the tests. im still doing my research too, and i dont expect it to be of hellion or HP performance quality but i figure for 1600$, at the very least i get a 600$ turbo out of it. figure i'll be the one to test out this kit since noone seems to have it. just gotta get the wifes approval first. of corse, even if i ordered it now, i wouldnt be able to put it on until December or January due to my upcoming training.

one of the things that looks kind of odd is the fact that, it mounts the turbo in the front, but it looks like it routes the driver side exhaust manifold around the back, and merges into the passenger manifold, THEN into the turbo? trying to think about the back pressure issues there...

stainless steel is going to hold up to the elements wheter if its aircraft quality or not. That hotside looks like something a guy may have done in his garage at home and is selling it because there was too many issues. probably upgraded to a hellion kit

the problem i've heard with the on3 kits mainly isnt holding up to the elements, its that after repeatedly being heated up, the stainless expands and contracts so much that it ends up cracking. that could probably be easily fixed if a small flex pipe was put on tho?
