dumped exhaust?
hey i have a 96 gt with bassani catted x and magnaflows,im using 2.5 magnaflows and flow tubes with the stock 2.25 tail pipes.
the adapters dont fit right and my one tailpipe keeps comining loose and rattling.
im thinking about getting rid of the old tailpipes and dumping it.
will i have problems getting it emissions tested? im not worried about actual inspection.
do you think it will sound better or worse dumped? i couldnt find any setups on youtube similar to mine dumped.

The sound will change without the tailpipes. The sound almost becomes deeper, but in reality it just echoes less. It's hard to describe.
It will not affect the emissions (pollution output) of the car, but may fail the visual inspection part.

Agreed the emissions won't get affected but as for the sound, ive heard a few that were dumped and i loved the sound, i thought it echoed like some flow 40's but it was deeper than usual.
everything stated above is true, one thing not mentioned tho is that with dumps it will get a lot louder inside the car. if you do go to dumps, i would keep the tail pipes in case you dont like it, you can put them back on.
ok i think im gonna try it. my tail pipe doesnt fit right and keeps coming loose.
i can pass a visual inspection,if i dont like the sound i can buy a new set of tailpipes for $150 off lrs that will look better and actually fit
