Default X-PIPE QUESTION

I'm still debating between an O/R pipe and a catted one. I have a 2004 GT and live in CA. What would I be safer going with? Withe the catted cats, will I need the O2 extensions and MIL eliminators still (like I would for the O/R pipe)?

Dosent CA have really really strict emissions standards? But i would have to say go with catted its only like a 2HP loss but then agian it all adds up in the end. If u get keep the cats u wont need the mils

What do you mean by "safer"? Both are options are safe for your car. Not running cats in CA can't be too safe when it comes to inspection time though.

what I meant by "safer" is that I think both setups (cated or not) are illegal in CA because nobody makes a catted x pipe with a CARB number. I was asking which way is safer when it comes to emissions. I already have the magnapack cat-back so I don't want it toooo loud. If I go catted I won't need MIL eliminators but I will need O2 extensions, is this correct?

On the 5.0 motor you dont need extensions but the 4.6 could be different check with who your buying from and ask were the location is of the o2 sensers if there more than a couple of inches from the stock location you will need them

I've made my decions...I'm going with the catted pypes x-pipe. This seems like it will be the best system for me- being in CA and all. They say the cats are ODBC compliant and have a CARB number. This is the only manufacturer that I've seen that has this. So far, mustangtuning.com has the cheapest price (free shipping). I am assuming pypes makes the ones offered at mustangtuning.com. I guess I will also need O2 extenders as well. I will not be getting MIL eliminators. Tell me what you guys think:

If anyone knows where I can get this cheaper, please let me know.

For Cali, definitely a dual catted x-pipe..................you will need the MILs anyways for the rear...........

or get both , O/R and high flow X pipes (like I did) so you can swap them back and forth as needed
