midpipe/headers
Ok I've decided I'm gonna put on a SLP Loudmouth Cat back exhaust system. I liked the sound of it on mustangexhaust.com however their clips were with both stock headers and stock midpipe. I was wondering what is the best choice for each of these. O and by the way this is for my 01 gt.
I have BBK Longtubes, O/R H pipe, and the SLP Loudmouth 1 cat-back..wow..deep, ballsy, gurgle, aggressive, just wildly insane..that's how it sounds..but it might be too loud for some people..so you can get the catted H pipe in the middle..but definaetly go Longtube headers..better sound and a lot more power (anywhere from 15-30 hp gains)
well i will hafta pass emmissions with this car...it's my daily driver so i will probably need the catted H pipe....do you know the gains you got from your BBK long tubes?
No, I'm sorry I never got the car dynoed so I don't know my exact gains..but I will tell you that I definaetly felt more pull to it when they were on..I went from a full length O/R H with the SLP LM 1 to the LT's, O/R H, and the SLP..and I totalyl felt more of a pull...and the sound quality is great...I didn't even get my car tuned..I just installed my new cam so I get it tuned tomorrow morning so I'll get even more out of teh headers..but if you are serious about headers, go longtube
