WEll i think the modular engines are supposed to have better stock internals than the old 5.0, I had a stock crank and rod 308 with hyper pistons and i sprayed it 150 for about 2 yrs never hurt anything still runs today, just needs some bearings in the bottom but hey thats normal!

There are different ways to get the traction you want, spraying off the line may hurt your time, wait 20-30ft, i have tried many differnet ways to get my old car to leave faster, i have used 2 different set of spinno`s and they suck, size was 295/50/15 if i rememeber correctly, i swapped for micky street radials, 275/60/15, and my best 60 after some suspension work was 1.61 spraying out the gate 150, nittos 2.05 60 the micky`s before suspension was 1.87 with 28lbs of pressure.

sum it up some sticky tires and 150 you shouldn`t have a prblem with getting into the 12 sec range if teh new cars still work timing off the knock sensor for retarding for detination or pre-ignition you should be good up to about 150 and the computer compensate for it! (cut timing etc)

Really appreciate the help so far guys, next mod on on the list is a Ford GT Supercar fuel pump since the stock one maxes out around the 125 shot mark.

05 LS auto - 3700 curb weight
05 GT 5 speed - 3400 curb weight

The LS has a near 50/50 weight distribution as well. 1/4 tank, no spare, jack, back seat, lighter wheels, lighter exhaust, I think I stand pretty fair. Of I could drop more weight I would but then I wouldnt enjoy the luxury part of the car anymore and I thoroughly enjoy whooping some bolt on foxbodies with my air conditioned seats on.

no way does a 05 GT weigh 3400

if you emptied all the fluids, took the rims/tires off, and no one was in it... i bet it would still hit 3600

i have a DOT scale at work, i weigh all my cars all the time

my green notch is about 3250 with me in it and has fiberglass hood, light wheels, smog delete, and nothing in the trunk , my '90 vert was 3450 w/ no driver so 3600 lbs in street trim

new GT tip the scales over 4k guaranteed

Not to sound negative, but I think a good goal would be 12s. I wouldn't spray 150 on that motor unless you get a tune. I'd think a 100 shot is safe if your fuel pump is good. Try a 100 shot, and spray it out of the hole (use a window switch so the spray comes on at about 3500 RPMs) and you may see upper 12s, which is very respectable for a Lincoln cruiser!

Tune and new fuel pump are in the works, SCT and a Ford GT Supercar fuel pump. Going to be running 255/50/16 Hoosier slicks as well. I plan on starting low with a 100 shot and working up to the 150.
