Whats the difference in sound between LM1s and LM2s? Also, have people used for mid-pipe with either of these?

 

LM1's are just insanely loud, the loudest cat-back system you can get..will sound amazing with a Mid-pipe..LM2's are a little quiter, but deeper..you can't go wrong with either one

 

LM1's are called resonators. Basically it's just a big fat spot in the pipe (shaped like a glass pack). LM2's are the same shape but have some fiberglass packing in em. Go to Rpm Outlet, they have a banner which does a slide show of cutaways of the mufflers.

 

Thanks for the info. What mid-pipe best complements their sound? I don't really want to go for an o/r mid-pipe because of emissions and don't want to remove it everytime I have inspection.

 

I have LM II’s with the SLP Catted X and it’s ****! Guy @ work has a full Bassani system (including shorties) on his 99 GT - mine is much deeper. (Not to knock on Bassani, but I really prefer my sound – very unique, deep, and mean.) My buddy with the Bassani system was impressed, having never heard an SLP setup on a Stang in person…

 

mine is the loudest mustang ive ever heard in person, very unique, it sounds like pure sex!
