And for some reason everyone is on a KB kick personaly i think a vortech or a procharger is better and you'll notice all the real fast cobras dont have KBs they either have a turbo or a huge ysi trim vortech and by fast i mean in the 9s or very low 10s

Its funny you say because Strictly Performance has two of the fastest Cobras in the world (track numbers) and they are both KB 2.2 Cobras that run in the low to mid 9's.

Maybe fastest around there because the fastest cobra motors are well into the 6es and they have turbos on them not KB's all the fast cobras are turbos or ysi's.Kenne belles are street blowers in my eyes not for race cars. Most people use them cause they can bolt them right on and go,people who are building race cars put turbos on cause the create way more power. I bet you see the KB craze die off soon cause people are relizing htey can make alot more power with something else.Honestly all the cars I see with KBs are dyno queens and never really produce at the track. But there is always a couple that do of course

OOHH come on! We are talking about cars that are still street legal running 10's. Not a car that you have to run race fuel in and one that is gutted. I refuse to gut my car just to run 9's. As long as the Eaton is on the Cobra, then the KB craze wont die off.

no way is any cobra gonna gio 6s in the 1/4, with anything. you would have to be putting down over 2500 hp. and that isn't gonna happen.

Kenne Bell makes a decent twin screw. A Whipple is the one that ford sells as an upgrade and is every bit as good. Both have more boost earlier on (because they are twin screws) but it's not exactly as "instant" as people claim. I mean at 2000 RPMs even with a twin screw, you still gotta down shift, or work up 4k RPMs to really feel the power. Twin screws tend to be more efficient and create less heat than "roots style" blowers like the Eaton. Heat plays a major part in the equation since more heat requires higher octane, and less timing to avoid detonation. Both styles sit on top of the engine and under most circumstances need a water-air intercooler (heavier/less efficient than air-ait). Centrifugal superchargers can use an air-air intercooler or aftercooler as they call them, and a power pipe to make some serious power. In general, Centrifugal superchargers don't have as wide of a power band but if you lay a 600 hp KB dyno over a 600 Vortech dyno, you'll notice that it's not quite as different as people make it out to be. In drag racing, you're at high RPMs the whole time anyway which is why you're best off going with what ever is cheaper and easier to upgrade. Centrifugal superchargers typically offer more bang for your buck. As far as calling them blowers is concerned. I think the term has generally been extended to include all superchargers. I hear it used interchangibly amond S/Cs. People say they have a KB cobra cause they want others to know that they are packing a larger, more powerful S/C set up than stock. That is not to say that people can't get the eaton (or heaton as people have called it because of the heat it generates) up to very respectible numbers.

i have to get this out there cause it bugs the hell out of me. no one seems to know the real difference between an interccoler and aftercooler. no one uses intercoolers anymore, they are inefficient because they are placed before the power-adder, therefore not cooling the air charge as much. an after-cooler is after the power-adder, making it more efficient.
