Lets talk power...
Some of you may know that i'm on a quest to turn my Stang into something fierce. I've decided that I would not be happy with anything less than 500rwhp and anything less would be a failure, for me personally and my pocket...
Many of the SC kits say they can give me up to/around 450-470 rwhp, and to me, that's not going to cut it, if i'm going to spends the tens of thousands to get it done, I want the 500 mark. I know I could go the turbo'd route, but I have been surrounded by that for all of my life and I want to go a new route... a Kenne Bell!
Now my question is this, the kit says it will give me around 262HP, so i'd guess that gives me roughly 460rwhp? I'm wanting to know what can give me the extra HP to break the 500 boundary. I think I might know what will get me close, but not sure if it will really push me to 500 or over. My thoughts are that the heads, cams, other upgraded parts that need to be added to support the power, plus a tune will give me the extra Ponies, do you think this will cover it or would I have to do something else?
EDIT: The only kit I could find on KB.net is the 2.1 but they advertise the mammoth kits (not sure what that is) and the 2.6, which says I could get up to almost 600HP. Which would be nice to know I could get, since the 2.1 looks like would be pushed if I want to make 500RWHP.
Thanks for any insight!

I plan to pick up an MMR Long Block (capable to 750rwhp) and upgrade it to stage 3 ported heads and stage 3 cams (If that answers your question). For the Trans, most people told me a t56 Transmission will do the job. I'm really just taking this step by step, getting the MAIN components figured out. Fuel system I assume is the fuel pump and fuel injectors, and I think i'm missing one other thing? All will be upgraded, but haven't had my mind made up yet.
EDIT: There's quite a bit more to the fuel upgrades, than I previously thought, but non the less, it'll all be upgraded.

With a built bottom end yielding 9.5.1 or lower compression and a set of stage 3 heads/cams and the proper fuel system 500rwhp is pretty easily achievable with a kb 2.1. As LilRoush said, kbs numbers on their site are based off a stock motor. We tuned my car down from 454/476 to 412/436 just because i have been lazy and haven't installed my built block so I'm still on the stock motor. If you want to be positive you'll get the numbers you want you could always get a 2.6 or if you got lucky and found one for sale a 2.8. There is also a inlet out there for the 2.1 to get rid of the 14# restriction.

. I'd think it would be much less strain on the 2.6 than the 2.1, am I correct?
