Nitrous Help Please
I am sure that there is already a thread out there for this, but don't have much free time to search for it. My issue is simple. I have a 2010 Mustang GT Trackpack with the 4.6L 3v. My signature has a list of mods/bolt-ons that I have on my car, but my favorite one is my ZEX Nitrous kit. I am running the 125 shot pills right now, but there just isn't enough power there for me, so I am looking to bump it up. the kit came with 175 shot pills as well, and I was wanting advice from people who may know. I am wanting to go ahead and retard the timing another 2 degrees, to total 6 degrees back of stock, and put the 175 pills in, but was not sure if my stock bottom end will hold this. Someone please advise. Thank you
No first hand experience with your motor but as a rule with a shot that big you are going to want to go with a custom nitrous tune to be sure your air/fuel ratio is correct and is properly optimized for the nitrous' potential. Plugs should be one step colder and gaped .030 to .035 if not already. There is a big performance difference in a nitrous specific tune, especially if you have it dyno tuned, and just reducing timing and richining it up a bit with the handheld. If you're not you need to be monitoring the bottle pressure and keep it between 900 - 1000 psi.
Oh, and nice shorts but plaid and stripes don't go:-)
