Default headers

im looking on ebay for headers for my 02 gt. i want to match them with an offroad H pipe (bbk). I also have magnapacks currently. I just wanted to know what the difference is between BBK full legnth headers ($390) and BBK shorty headers ($285).

thats an understatement considering shorties will net you almost no rwhp. You get what you pay for in headers btw...

I would say that getting shortie headers is a waste of time and money... They are pretty difficult to replace and shorties dont do much for you... If you are going to do it go Long Tube... You will see much more gains and will sound crazy with offroad and pack... Also keep in mind SMOG... depending if you are in CAL or not... I believe that right now... only JBA headers will pass visual.... they all pass the snuffer.. BUT definatly go with LONG TUBE

Seriously, do you guys have any proof of this? I know it is universally recognized on these forums that lts provide more hp than shorties, but how does anyone know? Are there dyno graphs out there or what? If shorties flow into a high flow x or h pipe and they flow into a high flow cat-back, it seems logical to me that it would make no difference because it's high flow throughout the entire exhaust.

5.0mustangs mag did a set of bbk tuned shorties (what i have on my car) on there test car it resulted in a gain of 10 hp rwhp. thats not the company thats a indepentend mag doing the testing.

i would stick with shorties... LT's are juts for high HP engines... if you aren't kicking out round 400 rwhp then don't bother. if you do get them and you don't have that kinda power you will lose torque.

forget it... sounds like its gonna be more trouble than its worth. 1 price of installation, 2 price of headers, 3 i have to go to school every morning at 7 my neighbors will kill me. Im just gonna stick with an offroad H pipe. I was gonna do headers too because i know that if i wanted to in the future i would need a completely new H pipe but i say screw it.
