Default 97 GT needs the bottle!

Okay, just to clear it up, I have read the stickies and learned quite a bit. However, I still have questions....

I am willing to spend about $700 for a kit.... What brand is best? I have been told that a 75 shot is both safe and sufficient without being dangerous (for my application)... Is this true? How much time can I expect to drop with this?

I have looked at Edelbrock kits, NOS kits, ZEX kits and I don't know which is better/cost effective. I want a whole kit with purge, bottle, warmer, and all the goodies... Anybodt can refer me to a specific kit that is all inclusive and is safe for my plasic intake please share!

Thanks guys!

i have a NX kit and that was about $550 for the kit. the purge is about $100 and the bottle warmer is about $120. i got the NOS brand bottle warmer cuz the NX bottle warmer they want an arm and a leg. I took off a little more than a second in the 1/4. the NX kit comes with the WOT switch and i run a 100 shot safely. when i first put the kit in i ran a 50 shot to start of low cuz your suppose to break your car in with it and get it use to running the juice. any more questions? if you want just PM me and i can help you out.

go with an NX kit. I have a zex but i just have it cause i got a good price on it.... your car is good for a 75 but witha 100 you may run to lean and need a bigger fuel pump. ive run with the 100 but fried a plug, but its fine now that i changed fuel pumps........but go with NX...best in my opinion

my bottle opener was free although thats cuz i use my hand to open it. a bottle opener is only for street racing incase somone pulls up next to you or what not but for the track its pointless. plus i just open mine and cruise around and spray if i need to. bottle blanket is not something you need or something remotely close to being needed. a bottle warmer yes, a purge yes, and thats about all you need to get started. all the little accessories are for down the road if you feel you really need them.

Please tell me why you NEED a purge? The only real importtant thing they do is bleed off extra bottle pressure, yes on an all out race car they might give you an extra .05 but I don't really think that is the case here. What he needs is a window switch if it is a 5 speed. Emann you will get all sorts of opinions on what brand is best but in truth, unless you are looking at very high end kits, they are all pretty equal, I ahve owned kits from nearly every major company and they all worked fine. I prefer NOS or NX but thats just me. For $700 you are not going to be able to get all the goodies like a purge and stuff. Look into ebay or other on line sites for a used bottle warmer. Remeber with nitrous to always think of the safety of the engine first, there for a window switch is more important than a purge kit. BTW have you checked with our nitrous sponsor for a price?
