Can a 4.6 handle 8 pounds of boost (350hp) with stock internals and a stockauto tranny? Or do I need to ugrade rods, crank and transmission? Thanks.

I believe with a proper tune, 4.6 GT's are good for 400hp. But that's pushing it...

id at least upgrade the rods if i was going over 5-6 lbs, but if you're in there, might as well do it all up. you shouldnt have problems, but if you're going for such a risky (kinda)number why not do it up and crank up the boost to 10-11 lbs

The Vortec web site claims that with their system, 6-8 pounds of boot 364hp 371ftlb on a stock engine is safe. That is the power I want, but is it safe?

i would tweak the trans a lil and other than that you should be ok. but if your doing it you mine as well make sure it isn't gonna f**k up b/c when u add more then you will have to change anyway. if i had the money i would take the right steps! good luck man
