Old time sound
I have a 2002 Mustang GT. I want to upgrade my exhaust (Catback, Midpipe, and maybe in the future headers) What setup will give me that deep rumble but at the same time loud. I want this thing to sound like an old muscle car and make everyone drool over it. I work at a carwash and this guy came in with a 2000 GT. While it was sitting at idle out front waiting for its windows to be clean everying one was in envy. You could hear a loud rumble from 100 feet away. While i was doing the windows to it random people were comin to check it out. I talked to the guy and he said he had a mac ctback. bbk x bbk shorty headers and some other stuff like underdrive pulleys. But there was a lot more. However, from what i have heard a set up with mac shouldn't sound as good as it did. But anyway srry for this long topic just if you have any suggestions about setups please help.
An aftermarket H pipe with flowmaster super 40`s will sound great. Super 40`s have a real nice deep rumble to them. Make sure you know for sure if your gonna get shorty headers or LT`s before you get your midpipe. A mid pipe bolted up to your stock manifold wont work on LT`s. The LT`s will help alot also to make the deep rumble your looking for. Shorty`s wont sound bad either but LT`s will be deeper and give you a little more HP than the shortys.
I got my flowmaster catback at www.summitracing.com and my MAC catted Hpipe at www.50resto.com
Hey sprostang you got a clip of you set up. I like the whole idea of o/r h but i am not sure if i want to risk it with cops. They are getting rid of emmissions checking in my area, but i am not sure if that means that cops won't care. SO just in case i migth go catted and i noticed that thats what you have. SO if you have a clip of your car or know of someone elses that would be great. Thanks

I was just wondering why you used the extensions. I thought they were just when you had longtubes?
