How big?
I'm thinking of changing the factory 4.6 on my 02 GT to a larger and/or stroked motor. I'm looking to really kick up the low-end torque. Some have said stroke a new 4.6 to a 302 and add a Kenne Bell. or 331 or bigger? Can or should I go with a bigger or stroked motor? Maybe add a twin screw to that combo?
So far, my current set up is a Paxton Novi 1000, Dragon TB/plenum, factory block and internals, factory 3650, LTH's, H with hi-flo cats and Magnaflows. 3.73 rearend and SCT programmer. Last dyno was 350 rwhp. Great for hi end power, lousy low end.[:@]
I use the GT for a street driver only, so I need the torque in the lower RPM range, not at redline. It seems my local performance shops don't understand that concept.
Thank you in advance for any advice or suggestions! Also, if anyone knows a reputable shop around Chicagoland, I'd appreciate that as well.
