Default Catback/Midpipe question...

ok...somebody told me that when you put on a new catback exhaust...there is cutting involved? is this true or does it just bolt right up to the midpipe. i will be working a lot over christmas break and intend to use the money to buy an o/r H pipe and borla stinger catback. will this be a direct bolt on job i can do myself? or a job involving welding and cutting that i need to take to a shop?

a good cat back will bolt up but the old one is a pita to get out without cutting.

You need to cut out the old cat back. Cut it right after the mufflers and it will come out easy. Installing the new one is simple.

you don't HAVE to cut it off, but it's actually quicker and easier than dropping the rear end out to get it off. i can't think of one aftermarket catback that doesn't just bolt right up.

in most cases you won't have to cut it.
