Default PowerDyne S/C Ques....

Forced induction is in my future, and ive been looking at s/c to buy next year and came across a powerdyne supercharger on ebay for 1899, says it can add UP to 65-185 HP or more depending on engine mods. Has any one used this item before if so did it suck?

Im looking to make 15PSI on a rebuilt engine using forged pistons on a 94 cobra, will this crack my block? Any RWHP estimates? thanks

if you're looking to make 15psi, then the powerdyne isn't for you. get an vortech s-trim. that should get you right around there. i'm running 10psi on a stock bottom end now on my 04 GT. powerdyne's aren't really made for high psi applications. if you're wanting to make a quick 6-8psi, then get it. don't put it on a built engine you plan on beating the hell out of.

Actually, not to sound like a smart ***, they offer a 15psi pulley (what i want to make) for a little more money in the kit as an option. As far as beating the hell out of it, nah my cobra is a garage queen and barley is ever driven. I just like the idea of having a supercharged (who doesnt?) cobra and knowin there wont be much that can hang with me when its all said and done. I can still count on my hands how many times ive taken my cobra past 3000 RPMS (Not scared, just like to take care of my toys) so it wont be seeing abuse like it should with S/C on it.

i didn't say it didn't offer a 15psi pulley. i said if you wanted to run 15psi, i wouldn't do it with a powerdyne. just do a google search for powerdyne reviews and you'll see they don't have the best rep for superchargers. people on this forum have them and don't have problems with them, but they're only running like 8psi. it's your money though.

I looked around at reviews and only came across one bad one....and what a hell story that was, otherwise it seems everyones having good luck with them, its quite some time before i ever even start to save up but at 19 i cant afford that KB i want so ill work with what i got. in all fairness i dont think ANY review had over 9psi, so thats still making me think tho

look for more reviews and I bet you will find more than just one negative review. I was looking into the supercharger route awhile back for my gt and found plenty of bad ones for them. But now I have changed my mind and am doing a pi swap with cams and nitrous.

I had this problem about 2 weeks ago. The powerdyne's do have a bad rep when over used and any time u make more than around 8 psi they break... But not if u kno what to do. Someone else on here gave me this site and ill give it to u now. The rebuild them for racing and ive heard nothing but good things when i researched them. They will make up to 14 maybe 15 psi after the rebuild and they will handle it well.

The site is www.928motorsports.com

you didn't search for very long. first result for powerdyne reviews: http://www.carreview.com/cat/parts/f...6_2877crx.aspx

there's more than just one bad one there.

like i said, if you wanna run 15psi, get a vortech, paxton or procharger.

i see someone posted that link to the powerdyne rebuild site. after the cost of the rebuild, you may as well have just gotten the vortech or something though. don't forget, at 15psi, you're going to want to run an intercooler too.
