Default Good Price?

Talked to a couple of shops today about Nitrous.. The shop that I trust the most offered to do a zex 100 dry shot, the entire kit, install, bottlewarmer, auto opener, and the retune for 1400. It was the only shop that could do the tune as well. Anyone think thats to much? Or is that about right on? I would much rather have someone experienced with it put the kit on then myself.. Never done a nitrous install and would prefer not to learn what not to do the hard way.

i was going to pay about the same for my kit i was going to get. it was an NX kit with the safety kit (purge, bottle warmer, remote opener), and the chip with tune for right around the same price you just stated.

not really.....sounds like they are charging you $400 for the install, that takes 2 hours tops. ($500 for the kit, $200 for the opener, $100 for the heater, and $200 for a tune)

if you can use a cordless drill, and a wrench you are capable of installing a zex dry kit.

also if you can distinguish the difference between hot wires, and a ground. you will also need to tap the tp. the tap comes w/ the kit

everything in the kit is complete...you mount the box, tap the tps, tap the tb, and wire up the switch to the box to power.
you mount the bottle, and run the feed line to the box , then the short feed line to the nozzle. it truly takes about 1 hour.

then pick up a hot wire and ground in the trunk to wire the heater. might take another 45 minutes tops

errrr.. oh.. do you already have a chip and are you getting a purge installed? the chip + tune was gonna be some money for me right there. that was $400 or so itself. i was getting the kit and safety for right around 800, then about 300 to install it all. [:-]

No, sorry, forgot to list the chip in first post. It sounded pretty good to me for everything they would be doing. Another thing they would be doing is installing a sensor to have it auto open at a certin RPM if its armed rather then me having the trigger. I thought that would be a good idea, seems that it would keep me from opening to early/late as I am far from used to it. Thanks for the answers guys!

yeah.. the WOT switch was part of that safety kit thing for the NX kit too. i don't think that's a bad deal then if you're getting the chip and the tune and all that stuff installed. they're only charging you a few hundred for the install then.
