does anyone know anything about these kits if they are safe to use and can they cause your car to bog down or jerk? or even blow the engin?

there's a guy that used to post here that got one. said it's good. i asked the guys at my local shop if they've ever seen or set them up. said one guy brought his stang in here cause he fugged up the engine with his. he didn't have any meth/water (windshield washer fluid) and he gunned it and it went boom. i was wanting one too, so i asked them about it.

In a boosted application the meth injection will reduce the chance of detonation allowing more boost/timing. Lots of turbo Buick guys run meth injection. Water injection is less common but will accomplish the same thing, if it were me doing it I would go with meth injection.

I run a Snow Performance Stage 2 kit with dual nozzles. It will allow you to run more aggressive timing and thus make more power everywhere. Race gas will go the same thing. But I run a 50/50 meth/H20 mix and it's much cheaper than running race gas. Methanol is $1.85 per gallon here. It makes 2 gallons of mix. My meth tank will last about 2 tanks of gas. I can fill the tank 4 times from the mix. So $1.85 worth of meth lasts 8 tanks of gas. That's street driving though. At the track, I'll use a tank in a days worth of passes (probably 8 or so).

Oh yea, they don't cause your car to bog or jerk and won't blow your motor. All it does is cool the incoming air.

i have the afm mr. freeze kit. i run a 50/50 water/meth. right now its not helping a whole lot cause i havent tuned the car for it yet so it runs off the chart rich. i did bump up my timing 4 degrees and increased the boost 2 lbs when i hooked up the kit and i have no ping at all.....of course thats with an estimated 9:1 afr. my wide band stops at 10:1 and im running richer then that. im staying out of the boost till i get my pms. if afm's claims are typical ill be pushing 500rwhp with their kit when its tuned. http://andersonfordmotorsport.com/media/chillin.htm snow makes a good kit too

the 2 stage snow kit is what I installed, but when tuning to only 5500rpm at around 4.5-5K the car would jerk bad on the dyno. The maf from what I was told all over the place and we tried troubleshooting but taking off the maf extender and boost cooler and then it ran fine again.. we kept the maf extender off and thought that was the issue, but gain it started to cough on the dyno and then blew at 5300rpm. I was running 50/50 water and meth. but I dont know if there was too much going into the TB or maybe there is another nozzle that we needed to use or what.

from the symptoms sounds like you're spraying too much water/meth or it's spaying too soon. what size jets? they are in gal/hr usually and are normally sized by your hp. does your kit have a boost pressure switch to activate it(i assume it does)? what psi do you have it activating and how much boost are you running. is it a progressive system? also where did you install the injector(s)? if you have a dual stage kit (first stage is a smaller injector that spays at lower psi and the second is a larger injector that sprays much more at higher psi) you can place the injector close to the tb and the larger one after the intercooler (right after the sc if you don't have one). if you have a single stage the injector(s) must be as far away from the motor as possible for the w/m to atomize properly. i had wi in my old dd talon for a long time and the gains were very impressive. i just installed a coolingmist dual stage in my stang, i won't have it out to be tuned until the spring but im looking for 50-100whp which will put me well over 700whp on a mustang dyno without changing anything else (still on 50lb injectors so i couldn't go over 10psi w/o water/meth inj). i will post my results when i get them. answer whatever questions you can and i will try to help you out. good luck... you will be very happy when you work the problem out, best bang for the buck item you can buy when you're boosted imo

Thanks turbostang21 for the help.. I just feel that this kit took the engine out.. I'm was running the snow 2 stage kit $399.. I have the feeling that it was too much going in it too. The unit has setting for start boost and end.. so I believe the setting starts out at 5psi and ended to 10. We mixed 50/50 meth and water. I'm not sure of the nozzle size I thought there was only one.. but looks like there might be more I will investigate that more. Here are some pics of the install
