I have the Pirelli's and the main complaint I have about them is their tendency to flat spot after sitting overnight....in the garage...in the summer. Yeah, it goes away but it's annoying for a mile or two.

I haven't had the flat spot problem yet. Are they a little underinflated?

If we're talking BFG T/A KDWs compared to the Pirelli PZero Nero, BFG wins hands down. The BFGs handle very well on dry pavement, and even better on wet pavement. I never had them in the snow, but I would imagine they're not too good in it though. I had a set of the Eagle F1s and then the BfGs on my old Sentra, and the BFGs were far superior in every aspect. Plus, the BFGs just look better...

Thanks for the opinions guys, I have the Pirelli 17's and my friend has the BFG 18's and he doesn't think they give him a slight advantage on the track. I do believe they grip a little better.

I have the BFG's and not only are they a great tire, but they are really cheap to purchase.

I really agonized over this before purchasing my 2006 GT. The nice sales guy let me drive both cars (17" with Pirelli & 18" with BFG) back to back twice to help me make a decision. The 17"/Pirelli were smooth and quite on the street, but a little soft. I really liked the look and aggressiveness of the tread on the BFGs, but was concerned that they would be harsh. Much to my surprise, with only very perceptible difference in noise/vibs, the 18"/BFGs hands down performed better and the had much flatter handling, and smoother ride, sinc ethey did not seem to bounce up and down as much. I am very pleased with this combo for every day driving, especially if like to take a few spirited drives around the twisties. Alos, very good customer reviews on TireTrack.com. Don't know much about the track however.

There are only a hand full of tire manufacturers that make tires in our exact 17" size and BFG is not one of them. Most of them are unknown to me. So what would be a good replacement from the link below for our Pirelli tires?

You could just opt for a slightly different size. I'm not exactly sure off the top of my head what they offer, but you might be able to find them in a lower profile series, or in wider tread. Just a thought...

What kind of BFG are those on the 18s? I was thinking of going with BFG Radial T/A when my Perrelli's wear out soon.
Mine came with BFG G-Force T/A KDWS 18"
