Default 20" or 18"

Which would be better, 20" or 18" ?
I imagine the ride would be much smoother on 18's rather than 20's.
Is it worth it to get the 20's?

you can make 18's look good, as long as they are 10-11" wide in the back and 8-9" wide in the front. maybe pick a wheel at 19" its really the optimum i think, and if you lower it about 2-2.5 inches it looks excellent.

It's really up to you.
20's no doubt slow you down, so if you are a performance seeker, 18's are your best bet.
I have 20's, and the ride is no different then my brother's car with 18's. Only thing I notice
is maybe a little more noise.

NOT TRUE! But it cost lots of money for <20 lbs 20's........
Yes the <$300 20's weigh close to 30 lbs apiece so yes those ARE heavy. Can't have cheap light 20" wheels, but you don't have to settle for heavy.

20's= untouchable cornering performance
Yes you will give up some ride quality if you run 30 series tires like I do, but Saleens run both 35 and 40 series tires they give up some cornering but ride a little better on rough road. Just saying 20's makes your car ride rough isn't completely true It the size of tire you put on your 20's that decides how your car will ride and/or handle. A guy has to ask himself, "what am I lookig for in a wheel change?" Looks but don't change ride? Looks and handling? Are 20's best for everyone? Absolutely NOT! When I installed the Eibach pro-spring kit, Tokico D-Specs and rear sway bar I QUICKLY found my stock wheels and aftermarket tires were lacking in the handling department. (before the suspension change I though those tires were really good) I changed wheels and tires and handling was FAR superior. Quite a few trips through my favorite section of curves and adjusting my suspensions to how I like the car to handle. I feel I understand where I like to have the struts set and also where my wife like to have them set. lol and it's NOT the same settings) It takes less then 3 mins to make the adjustments and the ride amd/or handling is very different. Her's is almost stock like (except R/R crossings) and mine is slot car like.

i agree w/ you 05sdi, and i was about to say what you said in different words until i read what you posted. people out here don't understand that the thicker the sidewall width the more cushy the ride but the sh*ttier the handling. and you guys can find nice 20's out there for cheap but you have to look for it. me personally, these are what i like and 200 bucks a rim, it's a price you can't beat. and yes they are twenties.

and 05sdi, just cause i agreed with you, watch out for this guy nickelson who has a fancy for saying everything i say is wrong.
