Default Tires on the rear

Looking at getting wider tires on the rear, but not sure how wide I can go safely. I currently have the Pirelli 235/55 17" all around.. If possible I'd like to keep those on the front. Any input would be great.

Width is an issue for sure...but height also must be considered.. what ever tire you choose should be about equivalent to height of front tire to keep the car in balance...or the car will look like its "squatted" in the rear.

I've run 20x10's w/275-35-20's on the rear and clearance was not an issue. What can make matters worse is the wheel offset.

You do have to keep the overall height of the tires within a certain parameter or the ABS light will come on. I think it has to be within .2-.4

I run a 285 out back and a 245 up front.

I'm running the stock Perillis on the front with 275 50-17 on the rear. No problems what so ever.
