Yeah, brake fade can really ruin your day. Get something on the car with larger diameter discs so you get better heat dissipation. Powerslots aren't going to cut it.

No question tires and brakes are really important and from a lot of perspectives the most important. So make sure those work for you first, I agree.

Once I replaced both the factory pads and fluid I had no real problems with braking- I've added some ponies by way of mods and I have run a lot harder lately soI am probably on the verge of pushing the brake system now, but w/o power mods the stock system worked fine for me...JMO.

Yes on the ducting and I might suggest replace the hoses too.

Get some Hawk HP Plus pads, youll be good. Hi-temp fluid (you got Motul, thats good stuff), and stainless steal lines. Then you'll be good for the road course. Brakes and tires are definatly the secret, not horse power or suspension. Of course ability to drive also, I go out with an instructor as much as I can.

i noticed both you guys are in TX - in case you were wondering Willow Springs is a 2.5mi road course dubbed the "fastest street in the west". the front straightaway is a half mile long!
Yeah, and that sudden left at the end of that straight dosen't help the breaking situation.[:@]
Skip the Brembos and talk to Willwood. Much better customer service and in my experience, less expensive, but every bit (if not better) as good.
CrazyAl's right...the bigger the better on a road course like Willow. If you get really serious, there are also fluid recirculating systems. Pricy, but very effective.

I'm going with the bear 6s setup on the front, but I'm pretty sure the stock 18's won't clear so I'm waiting till I get some hre comp's.
I have some rotors coming that I'm going to test out for Lethalperformance before they start stocking them and got some Hawk pads coming to install with them.

Yep, Willow is fast - I've been out there before (did not run, just watched) but it'll soon have competition. Eagles Canyon is coming on line in a month or so and it has a 1/2 mile straight along with 3 or 4 quarter mile straights. They are targeting F1 races and lobbying to be the premier track in the country...hope they do it

The track opening was delayed for some apparent fine tuning...hopefully I'll have a shot at it in May.
