Default Maximum Tire Size

Hello,

I have a 2007 GT convertible on order with the California special package. The order is now two weeks old but I don't have a build date yet, I am very much looking forward to taking delivery in the spring. I live in Rochester NY and do not plan on driving the GT in the winter - way too much snow and ice here plus the damage from road salt etc. The GT should come with P235/50/ZR18 tires according to the order detail from the dealer. I would like to get wider tires for the back if possible and need your advice for the maximum size without getting into mods or causing any problems or risk to the GT. Iam looking at the Goodyear Eagle F1's and need your thoughts on the maximum size, getting four new matched tires or upgrading just the rear, and any thoughts on the best non snow/ice tires. I apologize if this has been asked before, I did a search and could not find any threads on this topic.

Thank you
Mike

275 will fit, but its not an approved width. 255/45/18 is the widest approved.
Ive still debated going the 275 route myself, but I work for Goodyear, what would that be saying!

Good choice on the F1's, cant go wrong there.
Street,strip,road course I love mine.
