Default Questions for Crazy Al

Could you please outline your suspension mods and why you chose them? What were your overall goals? Thanks ahead of time.

Thanks a lot for helping me so quickly, that's a lot of great information[sm=icon_cheers.gif] Do you think there was anything important left out of that thread?

I would say no. That is the guide I used for my setup.

Maybe I missed it but I didn't see where Al talked about camber adjustment after lowering. If not, you'll need to add that to your list if you go the lowering route.

You should consider wheel weight in your calculation. The lighter the better although there are tradoffs for strength and cost.

I've got the Steeda bump steer and X5 ball joint kit in my future plans. Again, to correct the suspension geometry after lowering.

I'm rearranging Al's order as I am having problems with engine/tranny flex even at this power level. So I need to do something about engine mounts and/or the k-member replacement and/or a torque brace.

Decisions, decisions.....

So are you happy with the way yours turned out?

I'm trying to make mine better at cornering as I do some back road country driving and have noticed it doesn't corner as well as i'd like, but I'd also like to see itdo well when I occasionally take it to the track.

Yeah I'm definitely need to keep that in mind I am looking into the GT500 brake upgrade as it's supposed to be effective and economical.

I read somewhere recently that the GT500 Brembo calipers have a problem with seals failing when they get hot and Brembo not having the part. i was considering the kit as well but it's worth investigating first.

I did notice that, but I figured I could sift through the 221 posts on lowering to try to get the answers and ward off the dreaded "Use the search function" reply
