Default Looking for tires, 275/40/18...What do you recommend?

Looking at tires for a set of 18" x 9.5" Steeda wheels. Probably will go with a 275/40/18 fitment all around. Anyone have any brand/model preferences in this size range for the Mustang GT. I don`t want to spend a ton of money, but also don`t want crap. Looking in the $150.00 to $200.00 range per tire. That catches quite a few of the better import brands like Nitto, Yokohama, Kumho, Sumitomo, Riken, Falken, etc.

Anyone have preferences for spirited road driving. The car will be set up with a full "handling" suspension featuring Eibach Pro springs, Tokico D-spec dampers and various other suspension upgrades. Also I will be using a 4.10 gear set out back.

I want to set up a great handling car that will track tightly through corners and has enough traction out of turns. I like a crisp turn in, but don`t want the car to be hard and track every groove in the road. I would like to keep the tire noise as low as possible.

You might want to check if the 275 will fit the front...

I would get the BFGoodrich KDW2's, they are AWESOME!!!! also in your price range.

I just sent an email off to Steeda to see what they recommend tire wise for these wheels. They use this size wheel on all their cars and they have lowered suspensions, so they should have quite a bit of real world experience. Of course it`s Sunday so I won`t hear back from them till tomorrow.

Someone recommended this wheel/tire set up to me in another thread. I want to say it was F1fan, but I would have to search it out and see. I really like the idea of running the same tire size all the way around, but wanted to put a little more contact patch down than the 255/45/18 on 9" wheels allowed.

I`m still knocking around a few different wheel/tire packages. The Shelby Razor is still in the running and I`m still considering a staggered set of bullits.

Didn't know that about Steeda, but man, I don't know, I think a 275 would rub in the front especially if lowered.... :/

Wow, 285 is a huge tire for the front end. And I didn`t know the Roush Mustangs had 275`s up front. I`ll know for sure tomorrow, but it looks like the 275/40/18 may work ok. I guess it`s all in the wheel`s offset. I believe the Steeda wheels have a 45mm offset. Hmmm....
