Default ANYBODY KNOW CAMBER/CASTER specs 2007 mustang GT

I have change every part under my 07 with bmr and used steeda heavy duty adjustable upper strut mounts /tokico d-spec struts and not happy with getting negative -1.0 camber on both wheels(new style Hunter alignment machine) since I am using 2 differnt size tires front and back (27 tall front 28-1/2 rear stock springs front bmr drop rear)and withthe upper mounts all the way set out to postive and 1 set of upper offset camber boltsset positive. So does anybody know the factory camber caster specs for this car I am sure 05-06 are the same
thanks

up to -1.5 camber for the front is acceptable. Thats all i know off my head. The hunter rack should have the specs with it..

I run -1.3 on each front.

Stock camber is -1.25 plus or minus .5 I believe.
Stock toe is a little bit in.
Caster is not adjustable, don't worry about it.

Hi nycmike,

You NEED negative camber and in your case you need to crank in MORE camber. The stock S197GTsettings for camber are -.75 degrees negative camber and up to -1.25 degrees negative is still within factory specs. If you want the front end of the car to stick you need the camber to be negative, -1.5 degrees negative camberis a good starting point and more is better up to a point but if you get much past -1.75 degrees negative camber tire wear will become a more serious issue due to excessive inside edge tire wear. You also want to set the toe carefully using about 1/16" total toe-in with the tires and steering loaded. You also want to install a high quality bumpsteer kit and very carefully center the rear axle with a stiff light adjustable Panhard bar and install the matching Panhard bar brace and set the pinion angle using your adjustable UCA or LCA's.

HTH!

whats the best way to adjust the best panhard bar to the right location? How do you know what the right spot is?

Hi allout,

You measure the distance between the rear axle flanges and mark the center of the axle. Then you measurefrom this mark on the differential to the center of BOTHLCA mounts on thechassis. When they BOTH measure the same lenght the axle is centered in the chassis and will not cause crabbingas long as the LCA's are adjusted to the same length which most likely should be the same as the stock LCA's as measured center to center.

Hi nycmikie,

Of course the tires are going to wear out eventually but with only -1.0 degree negative camber you are more likely to wear your tires out unevenly due to improper inflation or improper toe settings. Trust me, -1.0 degree negative is nothing and is well under the maximum Ford specified camber alignment setting.
