Tokico Adjustable D-Specs
I have heard nothing but good things about these shock and I am interested in getting them. My question is how easy is it to "adjust" the shocks? I mean do you have to take it to shop every time you wantit adjusted, do you have to take the wheels off, put it on a lift, etc.? What is involved when adjusting these shocks?
There's a little shaft that comes up through the middle of the main shock shaft, and you just stick a tool in there (I think it's a hex key) and turn it. Apparently it takes about 5 minutes to do all 4. No shop necessary.
How easy is it to get all shocks set to the same setting? The pics don't show any type of scale for adjustability.
Also, I would be interested in seeing where you adjust the rear shocks.

Yeah, I was going to ask about the rears too. How do you adjust them? I have heard that they are difficult to get to unless you get some sort of attachment or special tool or something.
A little tool comes with the shocks, you can see it in the one photo above (a bit blurry). It has a mark on the top. You insert it in the top of the shart and first turn it all the way clockwise until it hits a stop. Then you turn it counter clockwise the number of revolutions to the setting you want. 1 rev would be very firm, 6 revs would be pretty soft.
Regards the rear shocks. The shafts stick up into your trunk. You can see the stock ones if you pull away the carpeting. Exactly the same as the front in that there is a shaft that you can insert the tool in. They do make remote adjusters for this. Its basically a 8 in long flexible tube with the key you insert into the shaft on one end and the **** on the other. They are nice to have but by no means necessary, you can just pull back the carpet to make the adjustment. Now if you had lots of stereo equipment (speakers, amps) in your trunk it may be a different story.

It is very easy you just turn them completely to the right and just set them with turns to loose them out. you just count the turns and then start tunning until you got ur car neutral for the street. I did it to minimize the understeer. The rears you just move the carpet a bit and get access to it. The only problem I had is that I have the shaker1000 and I had to remove the shaker to adjust them.

Now for the rears, does that mean you need to cut/drill holes in the floor of your trunk to install the Tokico's or is there something already there?
