I was also wondering if going smaller on the diameter had any effect on the ABS system?

right now i'm running the stock 3.55's. i want to get lowered eventually, but it probably won't happen till this summer. i'm trying to find some 19" rims i like. i think 20's are too big and my 18's look a little on the small side. only thing is no one makes replica wheels in 19's so i'd have to go more expensive.

I don't think so unless you are running drastically different diameters front vs rear.

diameter would matter if it goes over a 5% differnece from the reading I've done. hard to get a clear response on the issue.

My brother's response to your comment 'With such words of advice I suspect your brother is NOT one of those "you can't trail brake a porche" drivers....if so keep listening to him "' was that he "absolutely" does trail brake a Porsche 911.

Your brother sounds like he knows what he is talking about. Trail braking is an advanced driving technique and is usually not taught until the 'student' driver has a solid understanding of weight transfer, car control, and braking zones during cornering. A tire can do one thing well at a time; stop, go, and turn. When you start adding in additional acceleration or deceleration during cornering you start playing with slip angles and the tire loses its ability to do one thing well while trying to take on another task, like braking or accelerating. A simple setup for a corner is to get all of your braking done in a straight line, your tire can do that well, then as you transition to turning the steering wheel, you pause (not on the brake or gas), which balances the suspension and you turn the wheel, your tires can do this well as you are not on the brake or gas. Then you feed in the gas as you are straightening the wheel coming off the apex of the turn. As you straighten the steering wheel you and getting on the gas you are transitioning the tire from turning to accelerating which it can do well. When you trail brake you are essentially still braking while you are starting to turn the corner. Remember your tire can only do one thing well at a time. As you are braking, weight transfers to the front wheels, more weight on the front, bigger contact patch, better grip. This weight comes from the back, less weight, smaller contact patch, and less grip. As you turn the corner the rear tires are doing two different things but 3 things are happening. 1, less weight, 2 turning, 3 braking. Now your rear tires have less grip due to smaller contact patch and are trying to do 2 things at once, the net affect is the rear end will step out taking a bigger arc around the turn and since your front tires have more grip, their arc around the turn sharpens. Therefore, if done correctly, trail braking allows you to turn the car from the rear a little and gets you through the turn faster. If done incorrectly, you get to see where you came from and you watch yourself spin/slide off track.

Lastly, since you are putting a roush charger on your car sleeper08 and seem interested in corner carving, here is a video of terminator playing cat and mouse with a GO GT with a Roush blower.

Great video! The old line about "the most fun you can have with your clothes on" came to mind pretty quickly.

Now I really can't wait to ge my car and start playing with it.

i just went out and checked on my car and right now i have 285/40/18's on the back. i'm thinking about jacking it up and switching the front and rear wheels just to see i i'd get any rubbing in the front with that size tire.
