so shocks and struts are definetly not worth it? i dont even have a pp stang and im also pretty new at this
. should i spend more money on different sway bars or should i just get the gt take offs? has anyone had troubles with the newtakeoffguys or are they a pretty legit site.

Nutshell, I "won" a package on eBay, 120-somthing plus shippng of 45 or so. Very fast delivery from their Los Angeles area branch. sent OK calipers and brackets, RUSTY V6 DISKS. I complained, then very quickly they sent another pair of disks, GT this time, but RUSTY AND SCORED, obviously not the 5-mile-old disks they described. I complained, they said they'd send a good set from Fort Wayne, but never did, and stopped acknowledging my communications when the eBay resolution period ran out. I let them take advantage of my patience, but they still look like thieves to me. See the evidence at:

I'd stlll like those good disks, but I'm not going to pay for them twice.
As for the shocks, struts, springs, there isn't enough difference between GT and V6 items to make the swap worth the money or the effort. Sway bars from a GT will transform the feel of your V6, and are a simple enough upgrade to make it almost mandatory. Do it.
Hey guys,
Reopening this thread from 2008, still haven't modded my stang but I actually have some money now and definitely want to put about a grand into it. I'm going to go with a CAI/TUNE from American Muscle and probably the JLT instead of the C&L any thoughts on that?
Also i am still debating on getting sway bars from the front and back; I am pretty sure I just got a straight stock 2006 v6 4.0 with no ABS, I didn't even know they made new cars without ABS these days.
I reread through this post and I am still thinking about just getting GT front and rear sway bars only thing holding me be back was that Odyysey said that
"GT's are heavier than V6's so adding the GT suspension would not be a good fit for your car. Get an aftemarket set designed for the V6 such as Eibach, Steeda, or FRPP."
Do other people agree to this?
Also do any people recommend 4.10 gears? Would I need to do anything else than just buy the gears and get them installed?
TIA
- Dave

Weight and weight distribution aren't terribly different between the V6 and GT models - weight differences might amount to 40 lbs/wheel or so. Most people wouldn't particularly notice anything, and even if you knew to look for things like small changes in ride frequencies, flat ride behavior, and understeer/oversteer balance it might still be pretty hard to tell.
Seriously consider Sam Strano's adjustable front and rear bars. You'll be better able to find a combination to suit your car and your driving preferences when you can tweak both bars. For street and even moderate autocross use, having stiffer bars without installing stiffer springs or struts/shocks will work OK.

GT sway bars were one of the best mods I did for the value. Very easy install as well
As for the gears, it depends on your driving. I have 3.73s and feel that 4.10s would be a great street gear but not for highway driving. I feel that the 3.73s are a good compromise
