Default LCA for drag racing...

Does it really help? I put the steeda lowering springs on my car and at the track, it doesnt have any wheel hop. The car rides very low and smooth. I was wondering if it really is beneficial to the launch/traction if LCA's were put on the car... I see signatures which have amazing times posted with little modifications and a lot of suspension work. Any other suspension mods that would help for launching or help track times in general?

I just order the BMR lca's and relocation bracket, I will put up a post when they are installed. But from what I understand lca's will greatly reduce your 60ft time.

They will help improve your launch and short times if you have wheel hop. If you dont then they wont do a thing.

The control arms do the following:

1) They add strength because the OEM stamped arms are weak and can flex/break
2) They add polyurethane bushings on the ends of the control arms. This reduces twist or flex in the control arms and will eliminate wheel hop.
3) They can be adjustable to change pinion angles if needed. (lowered)

You don't need relocation brackets unless you are lowered.

I have stock suspension and get consistent 1.60 short times.
I have some GMS control arms in the box still because I have not needed them. So if you are not having wheelhop they may not help you at all.

Ihad the LCAs installed first and I definately felt a difference in street driving, wheel hop was greatly reduced, at the track I was not as impressed with the LCAs ability to curtail some serious spinning out the gate. I decided to get the UCA as well and I can tell you it is next to impossible for me to spin at the track, my launches are veryconsistent even at colder temps.

Bottom line: everyday street driving LCAs are a great improvement over stock (get adjustable since you are lowered) wheel hop goes away unless you are really pushing it. If you are more than a casual drag racer then get the UCA as well (again adjustablesince you arelowered), great for launching. I recommend either GMS or BMR tubular control arms.

Just remember the LCAs and UCAs are noisey compared to stock, my exhaust is so loud I can barely hear it but the noise is there !!! lol FYI
