Default eibach pro-kit question

My next upgrade will probably lowering my stang and I am going to get the Eibach pro kit. My question is that I keep reading that people need camber plates to adjust to the camber from lowering the car too much. If I get the Eibach pro kit, do I need to get camber plates?

It depends. My car has had the same springs installed without the need of any camber plates or bolts. If you do need to adjust your camber, try getting bolts firist since they are considerably cheaper. A little bit of negative camber won't cause uneven tire wear if you rotate your tires, and it actually helps some in the cornering.

Did you lower the car yourself or did you pay a shop to do it? If you did pay someone to do it how much did it cost you? Thanks for the help.

Took my buddy and I a couple of hours to complete the install. The spring install is generally straight forward, just make sure to buy/rent a spring compressor for the front struts. The struts took the majority of the time, whereas the rears literally took 10-15 minutes. When you do put them on, allow the springs to settle for a day or two before taking it in for an alignment. Before the install, I believe I was qouted roughly $300 without an alignment.

I took mine in to have the springs installed and car aligned and it cost me $300 bucks. They did not install the camber bolts, and my car is aligned pretty good.

I installed my springs in less than an hour...

Alignment was not off. I run -1.3/-1.5 camber and thats within spec. toe and caster was still good too. I wouldn't waste 30-40 bucks on 2 10cent bolts unless you know you need them. I would reccomend going with shocks/struts at the same time if your paying for some one to install them. Its really not all that hard and you can rent the crappy spring compressors at napa/autozone.etc for free.
