Default 18 X 9.5 w/38mm offset

I'mlooking at several18 x 9.5 rims with 38mm offset that I like. Is anyone running this combination? How about you guys running the 45mm offset with 18 x 9.5, do you think another 1/4 inch of offset outward would hurt on a lowered car? I want to run 285's rear, 275's front.
Thanks in advance.

You could push your rim out with that offset but the section width of your tire could be wider(and taller) than the rim. That can get you into trouble if your Stang is lowered. You might compare that rim your considering with the Roush 18x10's and see what the offset is on the wheel and which tire they run. They run the combo (I'm pretty sure) on Stage 3 Roush cars. They are lowered too.

I run17x9 w/ 30mm offset and 275's all around and 17x9.5 w/ 38mm offset and 1/4 inch spacers w/ 275's all around.

Obviously my car is lowered.

I have no clearance problems whatsoever.

I've been looking for a 17x9.5" wheel to run 275/40 tires. I really like the weight and cost of the Enkei RPF-1's.

So 17x9.5" wheels with a 38mm offset and 275/40's will fit without spacers?

Tirerack.com is not very helpful if the wheel is not already on their approved list.

However I found this website:

http://www.buywheelstoday.com/produc...+Silver%29.bwt

They show the 17x9.5" with 18mm offset RPF-1's as the correct wheel. Any comments?

Also, do the Enkei's need anything else? I can't quite understand the whole "hubcentric" thing.

That looks like the complete list of RPF1 wheels. I think the 18mm belongs on the 2004 and slightly earlier cars, not the S197. Be careful, as there is only one character different in those two part numbers.

The line below that is probably intended for the S197. I'd guess that the 379 in the part number is the wheel make or style code and the SP is the code for F1 silver.

"379" & 1 digit diameter key & 2 or 3 digit width & bolt circle code & offset & "SP"

3797956518SP
17
9.5
18
5-114.3

3797956538SP

9.5
38

Actually that page is a search for 2007 Mustang (note the upper left) and the wheels in bold are supposed to fit.

i've got 18x9 rims with a 36mm offset and 275/45/18 up front with 285/40/18 in back.

it's absolutely perfect. i've got maybe 1mm between the outside of my tire and the inside of the fender. when i get home later today i'll post some pics. don't know if those measurements can help...
