Steering Imput Adjustments?

Steering Imput Adjustments?
Hey Guys,
just curious
is there any way to adjust the relationship between the amount of steering wheel turn to the amount it turns the wheels?
These are totally made up situations but
if i turn the steering wheel (from straight) a quater of a turn to the leftand it turns the wheels to point at 10 o'clock (with 12o'clock being straight ahead)
is it possible to adjust so the same quater turn will make it point to 9o'clock?
also.
How do you decrease the amount of play in the wheel?
Sorry for the possibly dumb question
but Thank you
Hunter

RE: Steering Imput Adjustments?
(1) Not for any reasonable amount of $. You'd be looking atcustom parts - rack & pinion and/or knucklesand having to correct the geometry. There might be PS pump implications as well, since you'd potentially be asking it to be able to provide greater volume at higher flowing pressures. A more responsive wheel/tire package may make the existing steering "feel" slightly quicker though. Some tires are lazy enough in their response to notice, and you might be blaming the steering instead.
(2) Not sure if the rack has an adjustment or not (haven't had any reason to investigate this, and I don't have the FSM loaded on my work computer). Otherwise, you'll have to track down other places where motion can be "lost", such as may exist in collapsible steering column details.
