Default Steering Stops??

Has anyone that has changed their factory 16" wheels to factory 18" polished, chrome, or black bullitts have to use steering stops as stated on Ford Racing web site.

From Ford Racing web site:

http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...tKeyField=8977

Note: For vehicles with 16" wheels from the factory: -installing 17" x 8" wheels, use steering stop 4R3Z-3932-BA -Installing 18" x 8.5" or 18" x 9.5" wheels, use steering stop 6R3Z-3932-CA
For vehicles with 17" wheels from the factory: -installing 18" x 8.5" or 18" x 9.5" wheels, use steering stop 6R3Z-3932-CA

Default RE: Steering Stops??

I read that same thing yesterday while thumbing through the FRPP catalog at a local performance shop. I put 17x8" Ford polished Bullitts (with 235 Pirellis) on our '05 vert without changing the steering stops. Never had any issues. There MAY be a concern with 18" rims though. The add'l expense could be worth it, but I'd suggest waiting until the wheels/tires are on the car to see if you need them before pulling out your wallet.
