AutoX experts!!!
sounds good. i actually started looking around and, yeah, the 18" tires are a bit more prevalent from what i've seen. they can also accommodate bigger brakes if i ever decide to upgrade.
You have to be careful as not all 18s fit over any/all big brake kits. In my case I decided on the BBK first, the GT500 kit , and then found 9.5 x 18s to fit over them.
If you are liking autox and want to be competitive a BBK can screw you classing wise. And frankly I drive pretty damned hard and there isn't anything the stock brakes with good pads/fluid, etc. haven't been able to deal with.
BBK's are cool, but you need to ask yourself if you need them. They tend to add unsprung and rotation weight (neither is good). The power is still largely related to the pads being used. And 12.4" rotors might seem small today, but in reality aren't that small and are in fact bigger than the brake kits SCCA A-Sedan race cars can install (12" being the standard there, which used to seem huge).

we'll see. if i do it, it won't be any time soon.
i think autox is fun, but i'm really just trying to use it as a stepping stone to road racing. i'm corner working Texas World Speedway this saturday for Porsche Club of America and am talking to a guy about doing a work/drive for their TWS's performance driving school. i can't wait.
