I want to purchase 18x8 ford aluminum rims. Any problems with 255/45/18 tires?

Based on a random selection of brands that seems to be the minimum recommended rim size per Tire Rack. Once you know what tires you want to buy you can double check under SPECS for your tires are tirerack.com.

Yes you are OK. It is better to be towards the upper end of the allowable range but the bottom,i.e. 8 inch, is still OK.

Providing you're using a rim width within the tire manufacturer's recommended width, no risks.

So you are buying Ford rims that are narrower than stock which are 18 x 8.5

According to the Ford specs they are 18X8.. You know I may just buy the gt500 oem takeoffs that alot of people are selling with the goodyear tires on them. Seems that may be easier...

In case you are not aware these should be 285/40/18 on the back and 255/45/18 on the front. They should bolt right on your GT.
