Default I got a traction control responce from SCT

I wrote SCT an email as follows...

Hello I am on a search for tuning software for a 05-08 mustang that allows the traction control parameters to be changed.( Not turned off) I am looking to be able to set the sensitivity and the amount that the traction control reduces throttle and or brakes . If anyone has the technology to help me out it would be you guys . I have seen numerous post about different mustang owners that wish their TC could be turned down a bit but not turned off. Thanks Let me Know If this in the works or already on the market. this may be an opportunity for you guys to offer something that know one else offers (if you don't already )

Their response
Nobody has ever brought this up, in my past I've only shut it off or left it on. I'll do some tests on an 05 we have here to see if this is possible.

Thanks,
Mike
Tech Support Supervisor

So cross your fingers guys (and gals)

The Ford TCS system sucks. I feel that it provides me no additional safety, it only keeps me from doing burnouts. If you ever get the chance to drive a BMW dynamically on slippery surfaces, you will see what a real traction control and stability system is supposed to do. But good job coming up with the idea. I assume there are others on here who kind of like the TCS system and will enjoy this tuning.

there is a difference between traction control and stability control. The '10 has both.

I agree that traction control sucks.

The parameters are non-user definable.
Ford has them locked up tight in the PCM.
Maybe an advanced tuner manufacturer
can get to them and make adjustment avialable?
Or maybe Ford comes after them with a lawsuit of sorts?

My TCS doesn't work at all anymore (not that it was ever great to begin with). Button-on or off makes no difference <shrug>.

Will be interesting to see what SCT says.

No, its internal to the ABS and it comms with the PCM over
the high speed CAN buss. Pull the fuse(s) on the ABS and the
PCM throws all sorts of DTCs and CELs.
Pull the PCM fuse(s) and the engine no runny.

So, no its not as simple as pulling a fuse.

I was just telling 2007GT/CS check his fuse not pull it. He said his TC dose not work any more.
You seem to be very knowledgeable about TC .
Maybe reprogramming the TC is not an option because it is locked up tight. But think about this.We do have access to turn it on and off right. If I or them could come up with someway to turn it on,off,on off during use. that would give the TC pulses instead of just on . Like a pulse switch . Different length of on periods would equal more TC.

I may have hosed up one of the connections to the sensors on the wheels in my many 'operations' on the suspension. If that is really the cause, it is interesting that it would not throw a code.

Braking doesn't seem to be affected in any case <shrug>.
