If anyone was ever really serious about an IRS for the s197 here it is...
I'm extremely sure they ARE modified. I'm also extremely sure they don't have IRS.

it's a tough decision. tein coilovers or kw coilovers
with the tein's you get an electronic servo in the car that adjusts the car automatically
or
the kws to adjust it by hand on all 4.
price diff between the two = 400...hmm, but the initial 1800 for it hurts haha.

I wish our axles had toe and camber adjustments . I wonder how much one of the new nascar axles are and where would you look to buy one . They are a live axle with a very simple, wachimacallit thingy mabobber ( not the technical term ) If some axle company wanted to they could produce this style live axle for way cheaper than a IRS because you could use all the original UCA and Lcas and just bolt it in.
The three link stock setup is all things to all people as IRS wouldn't be a hit with the drag crowd .

well the mustang in the grand am is the fr500c, it is available for purchase as a "turn-key" car for about 127k
the performance packages that ford offers are definitely sub-par considering the wide varieties of different companies making aftermarket parts

You do realize that the EDFC from Tein (the "electronic servo") is like an extra $400 on top of the coilovers, right? The Flex coilovers (the model you have to get that is compatible with the EDFC) are $2300, but the EDFC itself is a $418 option and when you install it you have to modify the rear strut tower to make room for the adjustment module. So you're looking at $1900 for the KW V3's or $2700 for the Tein's w/ EDFC. I'm pretty sure the EDFC can only adjust damping and rebound, which can all be done by hand fairly easily. I would trust the KW's more than the Tein's also, but that's just me. I just don't think the Tein's are worth the extra money... Take that extra $800 and get a good alignment, corner weighting, and reinforcement on the rear mounting brackets that aren't designed to take the kind of load the coilovers are going to put on them... oh and get some good seat time on the track.

the kw's were what i initially decided upon. my mechanic put them on a gt500 a year before i got the car and i wanted them ever since. the reason for bringing up the tein's was only for two reasons; one to get some more info from people on the forums; and to see how well compared to the kw's. most likely i'll stick with the kw's cause i've liked what i've read up on so far with their stuff. i do want to see their hydraulic lift system expand to more cars than just the f430's and porsches.
