Default thunk sound?

i just had some Tokico shocks, H&R race springs, Steeda sways F/R installed about a week ago and noticed that when i hit a small bump on the road i hear a "thunking" sound from the strut tower mount points (fromt only). i called Stang Suspensions and they mentioned that perhaps the top center bolt was not tightened enough or i may need to upgrade mounts. Any advice?

my sway bars thunk after going over a bump too. I may have to put lube on the bushings but i dont know if that will fix it. It is much stiffer over stock so maybe it comes with added NVH.

Did either of you replace your strut mount?

Double check that these still torqued to spec and that Loctite was used on them;
1) both ends of the sway bar links
2) The 4 nuts at the top of the strut mounts
3) the center nut on the strut towers

Ditto, these are most likely the areas that could be causing it...

i checked the four bolts and the end links, all looks good. question about the center bolt. If i use a socket to turn the nut the ruber mount wants to turn with it and the center stud that shoots from the strut. it almost looks as if i have to grasp both and keep the center stud from spining? or do i have to drop the strut and do it while off of the car?

You have to "have to grasp both and keep the center stud from spinning" and it is difficult to do as you don't want to damage the top of the strut. one of these came loose on my car because it is difficult to get it tight enough. Blue Loctitie also helps. The torque spec per Tokico for mine was 38-49 lb/ft but check your install instructions.

checked all the points suggested and every thing looks ok. the sound is only and only when i hit a bump, normal diriving the suspension is sound. hard cornering doesn't do it. i have heard of upgraded mounts, but my car only has 11k. i don't think they would already be bad. what are the lubing points on a suspension. maybe i missed some.

I had a thunk noise that I could hear when I was creeping forward. It started after I had switched the front spring/struts.

Had a shop put the car up on lift and double check all bolts then lube all bushing and the thunk went away.
