I've read on corner-carvers and agree that you should not have harnesses without a roll bar. If you roll the car and the roof collapses the harnesses will prevent your body from moving to the side like with a 3-point seatbelt.
Then there is the second "rule" that you should not be in a car with a roll bar without a helmet, and definitely should not have rear seat passengers.
So that is why I'm still doing DE's with the 3-point seatbelt and a CG-Lock.

You are now asking about your own safety here, I would not cheap out here. For one there is no point in putting in a harness with out a fixed back seat, period. Anyone will tell you that, from there don't get less then a 6-point harness. Some clubs are starting to not even allowing you on the track with anything less. The harness bar is definitely a good idea for mounting the belts but make sure to set them up properly, do a search to see how they should be mounted. 90% of self installed bars, belts, and seats are installed improperly. It comes down to the mounting points and angles of the belts over the certain parts of your body.
I am with houstonnw, I have done track events with just a CG-Lock on my stock seats. That thing works great but I personally feared going off with that little amount of protection. Hence why I am more into autocross and limiting my track time with my car until I can upgrade to better seats and belts. The Glen you will be going fast. Check out some of the instructors cars while you are there and see how they set up there seats with belts.

My understanding is that some events will not allow you to run with only a harness bar and no roll bar for the reason you have given.
I'm also still on the stock set up with the CG Lock and agree that at the speeds these cars are capable of on high speed tracks it is a little scary. Stuff happens fast at 120 MPH!
I was looking at this exact same setup but decided to go with an Autopower rollbar instead. The Schroth Harness's are nice, I like the button release very cool setup.
Guess it all comes down to if you want your back seat to be useable. I didnt want to tear out the harness bar and there isnt crap for room in the back seat anyway. So my car is a weekend toy which is fine since driving it on the street with traffic was frustrating. I just look forward to my track days where I can go as fast as I want.
I know folks say you shouldnt run Harness's without a rollbar but it is up to each person to make their own choice. I am sure it is much safer than riding a street bike or a dirtbike or probably even safer than taking a shower. If you feel comfortable and the track allows it go for it.
