Well I just ordered 2 NT05's because my rear's were slashed, and i didnt want to get the Eagle F1's that I have in the front because i wanted to try the NT05's.

I have heard that they have great dry traction as well as decent wet. Dont really know about how they wear though.

Also, wouldn't running 275 on the stock wheel be too big?

I think user War Machine 115 has the NT05's on his new wheels. Haven't heard his opinions about the tires yet.

I just had mounted the 275x40x17 NT-05 on my factory 17x8 Pony Rims (have the 2007 Pony Pkg V-6). Have an autocross in Tucson this weekend to try them out, then a NASA-X at Firebird next month.

I've been through two sets of Dunlop Star Specs previously (255x40x17), and only changed because Dunlop does not have the 275 size.

I'm thinking with the larger size 275's on the 8" rims I will need a higher pressure than what the 255's needed (was 38#f, 38#r).

Agree?

Default NT-05 Reviews

I'm running NT-05s on my Z06--285s front and 335s rear. The Corvette community has been all over the NT05 since it came out.

Great traction and ride in the dry, pretty good, but not as good, in the wet. Not expensive. In sum, a really good tire.

Some reviews of Corvette owners can be found here. YMMV, of course.

No I'm running the Nitto Invo. They've been great on the street in the wet and dry weather. I've been happy with them.

MM&FF magazine did a review of them last issue and they also LOVED them. They rated them right up there with the NT01's in dry traction and excellent wet traction characteristics as well. They will be my next tires once the DR's wear out completely.

Thumbs up

Just returned from the Tucson autocross, and first impressions of these NT-05's are very positive. My pressures with the Dunlop 255's were about 38# f/r, and I ended up on this day on this surface at 40# for best result. Paxed around 938 against some pretty good local National drivers (G Stock Mustang running street tires).

I also softened the front sway bar (Steeda) to full soft, something I had never done before (following Sam's suggestion) and found the front turned in better and the rear "wag" was controllable (through slaloms).

Wear appeared to be relatively low (five runs today), and tire temps never went over 150 degrees (with 100 degrees ambient). Never felt the need to cool down (water) these tires.

I'll suggest these are worth a try.
