Panoramic mirrors come in handy for people that have multi-car wide traffic passing on either side. If this is an issue for you, you have issues beyond the mirror lol. In road racing, banking is seldom an issue either. Anyone close enough to you to be a factor can be seen just fine in your factory mirror.

Consider this - formula cars don't have a rear view mirror at all.......

 

maybe he's the slowest one on the track? Tired of all those cars surprising him when they pass by! LOL!

They used to have little wide angle mirrors that you can stick onto the factory mirror
