Default Vogtland spring install ??

Help! I am in the middle of installing these on my mustang and I can't get a hold of any company to ask. When installing, does the tighter wound part of the spring face up or down? The words on the spring can be read with the tighter wound part facing down but that would be opposite of the orientation of the Steeda springs if I follow how the words are printed rightside up.

My advice is to call who you got them from and see if they will help you out. After the advice I gave you before, I'd have hoped that might have been worth at least an shot at your business, especially considering it appears you bought much of what I recommended. The thing with me is, all this sort of advice comes with the sale. But I can't support product others get to pay their bills with.

I hope you get a hold of someone to help you sooner than later, and I'm sorry I can't help.

Sam, I plan on buying many more mods for my car and I plan on taking care of you in the future. Right now, I am unemployed and do not have a ton of money. I am actually taking care of my parents' entire move from Michigan, to North Carolina (where I am at). I have done everything from start to finish. My parents ended up surprising me with the springs, dampers and panhard bar. I did not know they were doing this for me as I only talked about doing them as my next mods. My dad knows a lot about cars so he remembered what I talked about.

I am sorry if you took that the wrong way. I finally landed a job and start in a few weeks (unemployed for 8 months) and will start modding my car again. I planned on going to you with my needs.

Again I apologize that you misinterpreted my purchases and hope you will still offer your knowledge when needed.

Still need an answer for the springs guys! Please help out so I can get my car thrown back together.

Just received a call from J&M and the guy said the orientation of the spring as far as top and bottom goes, makes no difference as the load the spring carries is the same. He did mention that I make sure the pigtail faces the driver's side. Is this the same on both the passenger and drivers side?

Somebody please help! I know someone out there knows the answer. I cannot finish my install without knowing how to put these springs back on.

I am almost 99% sure the tighter coil goes up in the body and the pigtail faces to the left of the car but this is not something to just guess at....

I've had 3 different sets of springs in 1 of my cars, I've never oriented the springs. The bottom and top plates they sit on are flat, just put em in. The tighter winding went up in my car, whether it makes a difference or not ?

Information re; whether you're doing front or rear may be helpful to someone here who knows.

I finished the install on everything. I just used the same orientation as tacobills write up, but for my vogtlands. Thanks to eveyone who PMed me or responded. The car looks killer now and rides like a dream. Glad to see there are people on here that will offer assistance strictly out of good nature and not ASSUME they are being taken advantage for sharing, without knowing all the details.

From everything I've seen/heard and experienced the tighter wound goes up top on the chassis side. Glad it worked out for you.

Huge upgrade huh? The stock springs/dampers leave much to be desired. I labeled it "soccer mom" suspension lol. Performance car my ***. Mustangs were built just enough to get you down the road to the shop and upgrade them.

I love the look. I have never had lowering springs but I think I feel the bumps more then ever now, especially in the back end. I guess I thought the Koni's would dampen them a little more then they do but like I said, I never had springs so I don't have anything to compare it to. I suppose having 20's on 35 tires doesn't help either! I am sure I installed everything correctly. I made sure the rear bushings did not "squish" down too much when I tightened them in the trunk. I cannot really think why else it would feel rough. The LCA's have nothing to do with it do they? I thought they were for launch control.
