Default Shelby GT500 Front Control Arms

Would these be any improvement over the stock front control arms on a Mustang GT?

Any benefits or not worth it?

The item description:

Original equipment on 2007-2009 Shelby GT500

Increased strength ball joints

Kit contains 1 RH and 1 LH lower control arm assembly

In a word, no. I purchased them to install new Steeda X5 joints so I wasn't stuck mid-project trying to press in/out the balljoints. Other than that, no difference that I can ascertain. I really shouldn't have wasted the money...live and learn I guess.

They are identical except for the higher strength ball joint. If you buy the steeda joints there is no reason to buy the GT500 arms. Just use your stock arms and press in the new joints. If your doing open track you need a higher strength ball joint. The stock joints are not good for this and will go away very quickly. GA

Exactly. There are "supposedly" better bushings in the 500 arms and one of the reasons I purchased them, the main reason being I needed another set to push the X5's into. Other than that, it's the same arm.

Now if we can get an aftermarket spindle for the S917...

Ford just issued a TSB concerning noise coming from the front LCAs. See TSB 09-24-16. Covers V6, GTs and GT500 built before 8/3/2009. Replaces the LCAs as a solution.

BMR also offers aftermarket front control arms if you really want them that bad

I wouldn't install the BMR's unless you have a race (dragstrip) car. A set of stock GT arms with upgraded bushings/balljoints would be a better option for a regularly driven car IMO.

Why do you say that? Arent they just the same design except for the fact that they way a little less?
